How can you tell how old and what model

Hi all.. thanks Admin for adding me. I'm new to boating. I've just got a shetland but have no idea what model etc..how do you find out. Is there somewhere u can look at differebt models made..I got the boat from a friend who doesn't know anything about it apart from it was his dad's who passed away all he knows is that he's had it for 20years. Any advice appreciated. Thanks liz x

first stop is to get the production number. If it is a Shetland, there is a small oval plate near tthe steering wheel. It will have a number on it.

Or

we will need your HIN ( hull identification number) this is stamped intot eh gel somewhere on the transom and is a bout 20 letter/digits long.

If you post an image, we can tell you what model you have

The plate as steering wheel is worn n blank. I will try find other thankyou
